Google Limits Meta’s Use of Gemini AI Models Amid Computing Capacity Constraints

Google has limited Meta’s use of its Gemini AI models after Meta requested more computing capacity than Google could provide, reportedly delaying some of the company’s internal AI projects.

Google has placed limits on Meta’s use of its Gemini AI models after the social media company requested more computing capacity than Google could provide, according to a report by the Financial Times.

The report said that Google, owned by Alphabet, informed Meta around March that it would not be able to meet the full Gemini capacity Meta had sought to purchase.

The shortfall reportedly disrupted and delayed some of Meta’s internal AI projects, highlighting how computing power has become one of the most critical factors in the growing competition between major technology companies in the AI race.
