RiseUp, a leading platform supporting entrepreneurship and innovation, has announced a strategic partnership with TikTok aimed at supporting startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Egypt through a range of initiatives focused on digital transformation, capacity building, and business development.
The partnership was announced during a special event held in Cairo under the patronage of several government entities, and attended by representatives from the Ministries of Planning, Investment, and Finance, as well as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), alongside senior government officials, private sector leaders, and entrepreneurs.
The collaboration seeks to equip entrepreneurs and SMEs with digital tools and knowledge resources to help them grow their businesses, strengthen their digital presence, and reach new customer segments, thereby contributing to the growth of Egypt’s digital economy.
The event brought together several startup founders, including Thndr, Nawy, Money Fellows, and Amtar, who discussed the role of digital platforms in supporting business growth and advancing Egypt’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Abdelhamid Sharara, Founder and CEO of RiseUp, said the partnership with TikTok represents an important step toward expanding growth opportunities for SMEs by enabling entrepreneurs to leverage innovative digital tools and solutions and enhance their access to customers.
For his part, Wael Ezzat, Head of Public Policy for North Africa at TikTok, emphasized that SMEs are a cornerstone of the Egyptian economy. He noted that the collaboration with RiseUp aims to empower entrepreneurs to benefit from the opportunities of the digital economy and to leverage the platform’s tools to support business growth.
Under the partnership, educational initiatives, workshops, and interactive programs will be launched to support startups and SMEs, along with providing specialized resources to help them develop their digital strategies and enhance their competitiveness.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to accelerate digital transformation within the SME sector and strengthen Egypt’s entrepreneurship ecosystem by providing greater access to tools and opportunities that support business growth and expansion in the digital economy.
