Careem Pay Launches Instant Money Transfer Service for UAE Residents to the UK
“Careem Pay,” the financial technology arm of “Careem” and one of the leading digital wallets in the region, has announced the launch of its new service enabling residents of the United Arab Emirates to make fast money transfers directly to the United Kingdom via the “Careem” app.
The “Careem Pay” platform allows customers, captains, and business owners to efficiently manage their funds, settle bills, and conduct transactions seamlessly both within and outside the app. Following its success in facilitating money transfers to India and Pakistan, “Careem Pay” now offers near-instant transfers to the UK, providing “Careem” customers with convenience, speed, and security. Residents of the UAE can now send money to the UK in just 15 minutes using their bank account number and sort code, with the ability to transfer up to 45,000 UAE dirhams in a single transaction and up to 135,000 dirhams monthly. Notably, a customer sent an amount of $93,217 to Pakistan in 2023.

Initially, we offered money transfer services to Pakistan and India from the UAE in 2023, allowing our customers and captains to send money to their homeland within minutes. We are now pleased to expand this service to include another significant segment of residents in the UAE, allowing for near-instant financial transfers to customers in the UK who regularly send money to support their families there or to pay mortgage installments, and they can now do so smoothly and easily through ‘Careem Pay’.”
With nearly 240,000 British expatriates residing in the UAE as of 2023, and the UK receiving more than $2.9 billion during the first eight months of the current fiscal year from the UAE, the launch of fast money transfer services is an important step towards facilitating financial transactions between the two countries.
To initiate an international transfer, customers need to download the “Careem” app and select the Global Transfer button within the “Careem Pay” service. Customers can download the “Careem” app from the App Store, Google Play, or directly for Android devices.
