The Winners of the TheaterThon Competition: Merging Art with Technology

The Theater and Performing Arts Commission concluded the TheaterThon competition by announcing the three winning teams, which demonstrated excellence in presenting projects that contribute to the evolution of theater through the integration of art and technology. The Mono team secured third place in the field of education and awareness, with a prize of 10,000 SAR, while the Brova Project took second place in the field of theater operations and management, winning 20,000 SAR. The team Boud won first place in education and awareness, receiving 50,000 SAR.

In this context, Sultan Al-Bazie, CEO of the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, stated:

“TheaterThon is the result of collaboration between theater practitioners who face challenges, technicians who innovate solutions, and entrepreneurs who turn ideas into sustainable, applicable projects. What we saw today reflects creative innovation that can extend beyond the kingdom’s borders to the regional and global levels, contributing to enhancing the global position of Saudi theater.”

TheaterThon is a program that reflects the integration of art and technology, aiming to develop the theater sector by providing an inspiring environment and modern tools for participants. The program focuses on fostering creative thinking, developing innovative solutions, and supporting young talents seeking to make an impact in the performing arts.

The competition brought together 38 teams from diverse backgrounds, who worked within creative tracks that included education, virtual theater, enhancing audience experience, and theater operations and management. The teams presented solutions that combine art and technology and align with the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to develop the cultural and artistic sector.
