The Role of the Youth Entrepreneurs Association in Promoting Entrepreneurship During Techne Conference

Margaret Magdy is the co-founder and board member of the Youth Entrepreneurs Association, a non-governmental organization (NGO) comprising members from individuals and institutions both within Egypt and abroad.

The Association’s Participation in Techne Conference
Regarding their participation in the Techne Conference, Margaret explained that this is their second participation, with the first one held in Cairo. The event featured many workshops that were well-received by entrepreneurs due to the strong content provided. Now in Alexandria, 10 workshops have been organized in various fields in collaboration with several entities supporting entrepreneurship.

The Importance of the Conference and Engagement with Stakeholders
Margaret pointed out that being present at the conference with a diverse group of stakeholders offered her the opportunity to connect with many young entrepreneurs and provide the necessary support for them in various fields of entrepreneurship.

Supporting Beginners in Entrepreneurship
When asked how beginners in entrepreneurship are supported, Margaret stated that conferences like Techne play a pivotal role in strengthening this support. She emphasized the importance of organizing conferences that are more focused on specific sectors, especially supporting women in this field. She also announced that the Youth Entrepreneurs Association will soon launch a program to support female entrepreneurs.

Challenges of Startups’ Continuity
Regarding the reasons why many startups fail to continue, Margaret explained that the market is saturated with companies. However, she believes that artificial intelligence and deep technology will play a significant role in the future of startups. Additionally, she highlighted that the lack of sufficient funding is a major challenge for these companies.
