GUtech Signs Memorandum of Understanding with i-be Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center to Establish Startup Studio
Fostering Entrepreneurship and Diversifying Oman's Economy to Achieve Oman Vision 2040 Targets
Saudi Arabia/Oman: September 17, 2024 – The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (i-be) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech), represented by Dr. Hussain Al-Salmi and Eng. Bassam Al-Kharashi, to establish a University Tech Startup Studio.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (i-be) was chosen as a partner to establish the University Tech Startup Studio due to its expertise and capabilities demonstrated over the years in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. The partnership aligns with GUtech’s strategy to foster entrepreneurship and diversify the economy of Oman, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
On this occasion, Eng. Bassam Al-Kharashi, CEO of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (i-be), stated: “We are delighted to have signed this agreement with GUtech. We are constantly focused on fostering and developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in our Gulf countries. We believe that we have the necessary expertise and capabilities to support entrepreneurs in launching startups with innovative solutions in Oman.”
The agreement will culminate in the establishment of a headquarters for the accelerator, the development of a program to support and nurture entrepreneurs, and the attraction of innovative startup owners to stimulate the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It will also contribute to the launch of innovative entrepreneurial projects.
