Environment launches the Sedrah Accelerator to support entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia

“The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of the “Sedrah” accelerator aimed at enhancing and developing entrepreneurship in the environmental sector by empowering startups in the Kingdom and assisting them in innovating new solutions and expanding internationally in line with the Vision 2030.

The ministry indicates that the accelerator is characterized by an effective system of internal partners, which contributes to building a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem in the environmental sector and promoting sustainable development in the Kingdom.

The accelerator will provide startups with a range of services including specialized guidance and development, necessary support, strategic direction, and leveraging innovative technologies in the environmental field, alongside a number of activities and initiatives that encourage working on creating effective and sustainable solutions to address environmental challenges faced by companies with the aim of enhancing GDP and job creation.

The ministry states that Sudra accelerator is the first of its kind in the region in terms of targeted sectors and selected entrepreneurial ecosystems, represented in Riyadh, London, and Silicon Valley in the United States. It will consist of an intensive program starting on May 26, 2024, and lasting for 12 weeks
