Saudi Venture Capital Company (SVC) has announced its investment in Seedra Ventures Fund II, managed by Seedra Ventures, in a move aimed at expanding funding opportunities for early-stage startups and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s venture capital ecosystem.

The investment is part of SVC’s strategy to broaden funding sources for startups and technology-driven SMEs, supporting entrepreneurship and increasing private sector participation in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Focus on High-Growth Technology Sectors

Seedra Ventures Fund II will invest in technology startups and businesses built around technology-enabled business models, with a particular focus on high-growth sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, and proptech.

The fund targets early-stage and fast-growing startups by providing both capital and strategic expertise to help founders scale sustainable businesses.

Supporting Early-Stage Innovation

Nora AlSarhan, CEO of Saudi Venture Capital Company, said that early-stage investment represents the starting point in a startup’s growth journey, emphasizing that backing specialized fund managers increases the availability of venture capital for Saudi technology entrepreneurs and strengthens the Kingdom’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Strong Investor Confidence

Haitham AlFuraih, Managing Partner at Seedra Ventures, said SVC’s investment, alongside strong demand from institutional investors that pushed the fund’s subscriptions beyond its target size, reflects growing confidence in the Saudi market and in the fund’s ability to identify high-potential startups at an early stage.

He added that the fund aims to support founders throughout their entrepreneurial journey by providing capital, strategic guidance, and access to a broad network of investors, industry experts, and strategic partners, while delivering sustainable long-term returns for investors.

Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Venture Capital Ecosystem

The investment reinforces SVC’s role in developing Saudi Arabia’s venture capital landscape through investments in specialized VC funds and direct investments in startups.

The company provides financing solutions that support businesses across every stage of growth, from pre-seed to pre-IPO.

Established in 2018, Saudi Venture Capital Company (SVC) is a subsidiary of the SME Bank, one of the development banks under the National Development Fund (NDF).

The company aims to expand access to capital for startups and SMEs, foster innovation, and strengthen the Kingdom’s investment ecosystem.
