The Chinese food delivery giant, Meituan (listed under the stock code 3690.HK), is currently hiring for KeeTa, the brand name Meituan uses for its food delivery operations in Hong Kong. According to KeeTa’s account on LinkedIn, fourteen job vacancies for various positions in Riyadh have been posted. This move clearly signals the company’s intentions to expand its operations globally, specifically targeting the Saudi market.
According to a report published by Bloomberg on Friday, the Beijing-based company plans to launch its operations in the Middle East for the first time, with Riyadh as the initial point of entry. Since expanding to Hong Kong in May 2023, in its first move outside mainland China, there has been ongoing speculation about its continued international expansion. The company is searching for growth opportunities, and the Middle East has been considered a potential expansion area since last year.
