Dubai launches strategy artificial AI
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has launched the Dubai Annual Plan to enhance the uses and applications of artificial intelligence (AI).
He stated that these measures were taken based on the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized the importance of this plan in achieving Dubai’s vision to strengthen its position as a global hub for technology and innovation, and in utilizing AI technologies to enhance all vital sectors.
He explained that the plan is part of a strategy aimed at boosting Dubai’s digital economy, with the goal of adding AED 100 billion in digital value to the Dubai economy, and increasing productivity by 50% through smart adoption of digital solutions and innovation.
Several initiatives were announced, including the appointment of a Chief AI Officer in every Dubai government entity, the launch of an AI and Web3 incubator, organizing an AI Week in educational institutions, allocating lands for data centers, and issuing a Dubai commercial license for AI.
The main goal of this plan is to enhance the quality of life for citizens and residents in Dubai, and it will be regularly reviewed and updated to keep pace with rapid developments in technology and AI.
The Dubai Annual Plan for accelerating the adoption of AI applications and usage is a roadmap aimed at enhancing the quality of life in Dubai by integrating AI across all vital sectors and fields for the future.
It aims to make Dubai the leader in supporting the economy, the most advanced in technologies, and the fastest in adopting advanced applications.
The objectives of the plan include providing a conducive environment for AI companies and global talents by enhancing competitiveness, providing advanced technological infrastructure, and flexible legislative environment. It also aims to enhance the use of AI in government work and provide the best government services by relying on future technologies.
The plan also seeks to achieve excellence in AI governance, develop related regulations and laws, and enhance cooperation with leading technology companies to deploy the latest technologies to improve vital services.
The first package of executive measures includes appointing AI directors in government entities, launching Dubai’s AI and Web3 incubator, providing training and support for teams in vital sectors to adopt the latest technologies and practices.
Additionally, the first package of the plan includes launching an AI Week in educational institutions to integrate AI applications across all educational components to enhance the quality of educational outputs.
Furthermore, it aims to provide students with future skills aligned with future job market needs, educate school and university students on AI and programming, and introduce them to the latest tools and methods in this field.
The first package of the plan also includes launching a Dubai commercial license for AI aimed at boosting investments in the AI field, attracting specialized companies and talents from around the world to work in a globally enabling environment that supports companies in achieving more growth and development, contributing to cementing Dubai’s position as the preferred business destination for technology and innovation companies.
The first package of the plan also includes allocating supported lands for data centers to contribute to providing a conducive environment for attracting foreign investments and continuing to develop a world-class infrastructure that supports providing solutions that enhance the digital transformation journey in Dubai.
The Dubai Annual Plan for accelerating the adoption of AI applications and usage contributes to solidifying Dubai’s position as a preferred destination for technology, innovation, and AI companies.
