Careem and the Medina Development Authority to develop transportation services in the Holy Sites

Ride-hailing giant “Careem,” the leading multi-service platform in the Middle East, has announced the launch of “Madinah City Tours” in collaboration with the Madinah Development Authority.

The agreement to launch the service was signed during the Saudi Tourism Summit currently held in Riyadh.

Careem stated that this service comes as part of its ongoing efforts to drive innovation and provide solutions that enhance mobility experiences, reaffirming its continuous support for local tourism and the achievement of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The new service offers a specially designed experience to visit the top 12 historical and tourist sites in Madinah, including the Prophet’s Mosque, Quba Mosque, Qiblatain Mosque, Uhud Battlefield, Khandaq Battlefield, Aqeeq Valley, and Fiqh Well, in addition to the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, the Hejaz Railway Museum, the Madinah Arts Center, and the Dar Al Madinah Museum.

Commenting on this announcement, Wael Ibrahim, General Manager of Careem Rides in Saudi Arabia, said: “The launch of ‘Madinah City Tours’ is part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and providing different and reliable mobility options that meet local needs.

He added, “The new service will provide an easy and reliable mobility experience for residents and visitors to visit the top 12 historical and tourist sites in Madinah, supporting local tourism and providing more flexible economic opportunities for Saudi captains, and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.”

Through this partnership, the Madinah Development Authority aims to enrich the visitor experience by offering them a unique opportunity to explore diverse and new experiences in Madinah, and to provide innovative solutions in collaboration with the private sector to increase its participation in the city’s economic development and provide flexible economic opportunities for local residents.

Users of the Careem app can enjoy the “Madinah City Tours” program through two different options that can be booked through the app.

The first option includes a two-hour tour, with the possibility of visiting up to 5 historical sites, while the second option offers a 5-hour tour covering 12 historical sites.
