partnership between Sharjah Research Park and Peec Mobility to use cars with ReMethod technologies

In line with the strategic initiative to achieve climate neutrality in the United Arab Emirates by 2050, a pioneering partnership has been launched between the Environment Group, Peec Mobility, and the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park.

The primary goal of this partnership is to convert major vehicle fleets in the Emirate of Sharjah into electric vehicles, thereby supporting national and global objectives related to waste reduction, promoting a circular economy, sustainable transportation, and carbon reduction.

Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the American University of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park, witnessed the signing of the partnership agreement.

The agreement entails the rehabilitation of vehicles using the specialized “ReMethod” solution from Peec, an engineering process supporting the transition to electric cars with a low environmental footprint.

The collaboration aligns with the vision of the Environment Group to enhance smart and sustainable solutions for improved quality of life and the development of forward-looking cities.

The Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park aims to connect academic institutions, businesses, and government entities to promote innovation and leadership in technology.

The first phase of the experimental project includes the “ReTruck” initiative, where a vehicle from the Environment Group will undergo rehabilitation using Peec’s innovative techniques.

All waste generated from this project will be recycled in the Environment waste management facilities, featuring the first waste-to-energy plant in the UAE.

According to the agreement, future efforts will involve recycling materials and spare parts, focusing on end-of-life electric vehicle batteries. This collaboration aims to achieve circular economy principles and support the UAE’s climate neutrality goals.

Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO of the Environment Group, emphasized the UAE’s effective support for adopting electric vehicles, aiming to increase their share on the country’s roads to 50% by 2050.

The Environment Group is committed to supporting the government of Sharjah and the UAE in transitioning towards green mobility, particularly in the realm of transport fleets.

Zack Vizel, the founder of Peec Mobility, expressed pride in being part of this significant partnership, contributing to sustainable mobility in Sharjah.

He highlighted that Peec’s solutions facilitate the early transformation of fuel-based fleets, providing cost-effective and efficient electric vehicle alternatives.

Peec Mobility, based in the UAE, leads the transition from fossil fuels to electric power. Their distinctive performance solutions, including retrofit modifications, convert traditional fuel-based vehicles into electric cars at a lower cost and in less time than manufacturing new electric vehicles.

Peec has successfully experimented with this reuse process in the UAE, starting with the renowned Toyota Camry taxi fleet.

The company is now expanding this scalable process globally, collaborating with governments, local authorities, and businesses to establish small factories, accelerating climate neutrality in transportation operations.

Once the Environment Group’s fleet is fully converted to electric vehicles, the partnership will proceed to the next stage within the “ReSharjah” initiative.

This phase will explore converting the entire Environment fleet into electric vehicles, aiming for carbon neutrality and improved waste management in the region.

As part of the third stage, the “ReFactory” initiative will be launched, a dedicated facility aiming to reuse vehicles across various modes of transportation while converting waste into energy.

This initiative is expected to contribute to carbon neutrality and promote sustainable technology in the transportation sector.

Through these strategic steps, the partners look forward to making a positive impact on the circular economy, fostering innovation, and developing a sustainable future in the UAE and beyond.
