Microsoft Appoints Ayman AlGhamdi as President of Microsoft Arabia

    Microsoft has appointed Ayman AlGhamdi as President of Microsoft Arabia, reinforcing its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s AI transformation, cloud adoption, and Vision 2030 digital growth.

Microsoft has appointed Ayman AlGhamdi as President of Microsoft Arabia, effective July 5, 2026, marking a new step in the company’s long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation and AI ambitions under Vision 2030.

AlGhamdi brings 14 years of experience at Microsoft. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Public Sector in Saudi Arabia, where he worked closely with government entities and national institutions to support AI transformation, accelerate cloud adoption, and strengthen digital services for citizens and businesses.

New Leadership to Support Saudi Arabia’s AI Journey

In his new role as President of Microsoft Arabia, AlGhamdi will lead the company’s work in the Kingdom, building on more than two decades of partnership between Microsoft and Saudi Arabia.

His priorities will include advancing the adoption of cloud and AI technologies, strengthening data and cybersecurity capabilities, supporting productivity solutions, expanding partner capacity, and contributing to national digital skilling programs.

Naim Yazbeck, President of Microsoft Middle East and Africa, said AlGhamdi’s appointment comes at a defining moment for Saudi Arabia’s AI journey. He noted that the Kingdom is moving rapidly from ambition to execution, supported by a clear national vision and strong collaboration between government leaders, customers, and partners.

Yazbeck added that AlGhamdi’s deep public sector experience and strong understanding of the local market will be key to helping organizations in Saudi Arabia build trust, skills, and digital capabilities at scale.

Supporting Digital Transformation Across the Public Sector

During his time at Microsoft, AlGhamdi has played an important role in advancing partnerships across the public sector. He has supported organizations as they adopt cloud and AI technologies to improve services, enhance operational efficiency, and build long-term digital capabilities.

His leadership has also contributed to Microsoft’s collaboration with key national stakeholders, supporting the company’s cloud and AI roadmap in the Kingdom.

Ayman AlGhamdi, President of Microsoft Arabia, said the appointment is deeply meaningful to him as a Saudi national. He noted that government entities in the Kingdom are increasingly treating AI not as a future concept, but as a practical tool to improve services, raise efficiency, and create value at scale.

He added that his priority will be to stay close to customers, partners, and teams, while ensuring that Microsoft brings the full strength of its ecosystem, including cloud, AI, security, data, and skills, to support the next phase of Saudi Arabia’s digital growth.

Microsoft Strengthens Its Long-Term Commitment to Saudi Arabia

Microsoft has been present in Saudi Arabia for more than 20 years, supporting digital transformation across key sectors including government, energy, aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and major national projects.

Recent milestones include the upcoming Microsoft Saudi Arabia cloud region and the company’s commitment to skill 3 million people in AI by 2030.

As President of Microsoft Arabia, AlGhamdi will lead the company’s engagement with customers, partners, and national institutions to accelerate trusted AI adoption, strengthen cloud and data foundations, expand digital skills, and support Microsoft’s long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 priorities.
