Reelful Uses AI to Turn Photos and Videos Into Ready-to-Post Reels

Reelful uses AI to turn photos and video clips from a user’s phone into polished, ready-to-publish Reels, automatically generating the script, voiceover, music, captions, and visual effects.

A new iOS app called Reelful is using artificial intelligence to transform photos and video clips from a user’s camera roll into polished short-form videos for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

The app is designed for creators, founders, and business owners who want to publish social media content consistently but find traditional video editing tools too complicated or time-consuming.

Reelful Automates the Video Editing Process

The launch of Reelful reflects a wider shift in video production, as artificial intelligence moves beyond basic editing features toward AI agents capable of managing the entire content creation process.

Reelful joins a growing group of AI video startups, including Opus Clip and Captions, that are changing how individuals and businesses create short-form content.

The company is currently participating in a16z’s Speedrun program, which supports early-stage technology startups.

Who Founded Reelful?

Reelful was founded by Kate Deyneka, a former machine learning engineer at Snapchat who worked on video and image models.

Deyneka left Snapchat to develop an agentic video editor that could automatically handle many of the tasks normally required to create short-form videos, including selecting clips, writing scripts, adding effects, recording voiceovers, and refining the final edit.

She created the app after recognising that founders and business owners often have valuable photos and video footage but lack the time to turn it into professional content.

Reelful aims to help users build their online presence, personal brand, or company brand without spending hours editing videos manually.

How Does Reelful Work?

To create a video, users first enter a prompt describing the story they want to tell. This could include a travel recap, product demonstration, event highlight, short interview, or business update.

Users then record a 30-second voice sample, which the app uses to create an AI-generated clone of their voice. After selecting photos and video clips from their camera roll, Reelful manages the rest of the production process.

The app can:

  • Plan the structure of the video.
  • Write the script.
  • Generate an AI voiceover.
  • Select and organise footage.
  • Add captions.
  • Include music and sound effects.
  • Assemble the final video.

The result is a short-form video that is ready to publish without the need for traditional editing software.

Turning Still Images Into AI-Generated Videos

Reelful can also convert still images into AI-generated video clips.

For example, if a user uploads a photo of someone cutting a mango, the app can animate the image and generate a short scene showing the person slicing the fruit.

AI-generated clips include a watermark informing viewers that the content was created using artificial intelligence.

Users Can Edit Videos Through Chat

Once Reelful generates a complete video, users can continue editing it by chatting with the app.

They can ask the AI to change the soundtrack, revise the script, replace certain clips, adjust the voiceover, or modify other parts of the video.

This conversational editing system removes the need to work with complex timelines, layers, and controls typically found in professional video editing software.

Reelful Targets Founders and Business Owners

Reelful is initially targeting founders, entrepreneurs, and business owners who need to create content regularly to support their personal or company brands.

A salon, for example, may already have a large collection of photos and videos showing services, customer transformations, and behind-the-scenes moments. However, the business may not have enough time or resources to turn that material into polished social media videos.

Reelful is designed to use this existing content and transform it into ready-to-publish Reels with minimal effort.

The app could also be useful after conferences, networking events, or interviews. Users can upload their footage while travelling home and receive a finished video without having to open a laptop or manually edit the content.

Reelful Pricing and Subscription Plans

Reelful offers both one-time video credit bundles and monthly subscription plans.

Its one-time purchase options include:

  • Five videos for $15.
  • Fifteen videos for $43.
  • Thirty-three videos for $90.

The monthly plans include:

  • Creator plan: 10 videos per month for $25.
  • Pro plan: 25 videos per month for $50.
  • Studio plan: 60 videos per month for $100.

Is Reelful Available on Android?

Reelful is currently available only on iOS devices.

However, the company plans to launch Android and web versions in the future, expanding access beyond iPhone users.

The arrival of Reelful highlights how AI video editing tools are evolving from simple creative assistants into automated production platforms capable of planning, writing, editing, and completing social media videos from start to finish.
