- Yassir announces the acquisition of Uno stores to support e-commerce in Algeria and Africa
- Yassir plans to open its flagship store at Bab Ezzouar Shopping Center in Algeria within days
Yassir, the Algerian startup specializing in e-commerce and on-demand services, has acquired the “Uno” retail chain from Cevital Group, with the stores set to be rebranded as “Yassir Market.”
The flagship store of the new entity is expected to open in the coming days at Bab Ezzouar Shopping Center in Algeria.
The acquisition follows the exit of Jumia from the grocery and large-scale retail sector in North Africa, reflecting Yassir’s ambition to combine its digital expertise with a tangible physical presence through a modern network of stores designed to deliver a hybrid shopping experience.
Following the completion of the Uno acquisition, traditional retail will be directly integrated into Yassir’s broader services ecosystem.
The company also plans to renovate existing stores and open new branches to meet customer demand for grocery and consumer goods, particularly premium products, cosmetics, and quick-service food outlets.
Financial transactions in Yassir Market stores will be processed through Yassir Cash, supported by a network of more than 5,000 agents.
Customers will also be able to earn and redeem points through the “Yassir+” loyalty program.
The company is also developing a B2B logistics layer to handle wholesale deliveries for institutional clients, including embassies and large corporations, leveraging its existing online delivery infrastructure.
This acquisition reflects the long-term vision of Noureddine Tayebi to drive financial inclusion and simplify consumers’ lives through a technology-driven integrated ecosystem.
