WayUp Sports closes financing round to support its regional expansion
WayUp Sports, the Egyptian e-commerce platform specializing in sports performance-enhancing apparel and equipment, has successfully closed its seed funding round led by Risk Capital and Index Sports Fund.
Launched in 2021 by Omar, Mohamed, and Basma Afifi, WayUp Sports aims to meet the demand for diverse, specialized, and performance-enhancing sportswear and gear, supported by the shared expertise of its three founders.
The new funding will contribute to supporting the company’s growth to meet increasing demand and potential in the local and regional markets.
This includes regional expansion, launching the WayUp Sports private label, and enhancing the user experience through the app and website.
WayUp Sports provides performance-enhancing sportswear and equipment for various sports directly sourced from local and international brands.
The platform allows customers to access a seamless shopping experience, managing the entire sales process from product storage and quality assurance to product delivery, along with training customer service staff to assist sports enthusiasts.
Since its launch in 2021, WayUp Sports has raised a seed funding round، Since then, the company has witnessed a ninefold increase in its growth rate.
It has also formed strategic partnerships with over 70 local and international brands, serving more than 15 sports, offering over 10,000 products, and catering to over 100,000 customers.
