Bitpanda Secures Virtual Asset Broker-Dealer License from Dubai’s VARA

DubaiBitpanda, the  European virtual assets platform, has announced that it has secured a Virtual Asset Broker-Dealer License from the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) in record time. This license allows Bitpanda to offer its proprietary virtual asset platform to investors in the United Arab Emirates, including access to over 500 virtual assets—making it the most comprehensive offering of its kind in the market.

The UAE has quickly established itself as a global hub for digital assets, thanks to VARA’s efforts in providing a clear regulatory framework and robust investor protection. Bitpanda aims to align with this ambitious vision by setting a new standard for secure, compliant, and user-friendly virtual asset investing in the region.

Commenting on the milestone, Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad, Deputy CEO of Bitpanda Group, stated:
“Bitpanda is built on a core principle of making digital assets safe and accessible to everyone. With this license from VARA, we are realizing our vision in the UAE and ensuring that both retail investors and financial institutions have access to a fully compliant digital asset platform. This step marks the beginning of our expansion beyond Europe. We are fully prepared to grow in a region that embraces both innovation and regulation.”

Bitpanda has established a permanent office in Dubai, located within the Crypto Centre at Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), with a dedicated team of regional experts focused on developing tailored products for the UAE market. Investors in the UAE will be welcomed to the platform in the coming months.

Fabian Reinisch, General Counsel of Bitpanda Group, added:
“The UAE is one of the leading markets for digital assets, and VARA is setting new standards for innovation and investor protection. This license enables us to bring our trusted and regulated platform to a broader audience. Receiving approval in record time is a testament to our team’s decade-long expertise in digital assets and our unwavering commitment to the highest regulatory standards.”

This license comes after a decade of proactive regulatory efforts. Bitpanda is already a leader in Europe, holding several licenses including a crypto asset market license from Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), registration with the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), an e-money license under the EU’s PSD2 directive, MiFID II compliance certification, and VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider) licenses in multiple markets.

Thanks to this strong regulatory foundation, Bitpanda has become one of the world’s most trusted platforms for secure and compliant investing in virtual assets.
