GITEX Global 2024: The World’s Largest Technology Event Announces GITEX Editions and Major New Highlights

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, August 2: With just two months left until the kickoff of GITEX Global 2024, the world’s largest technology and startup event, the organizers have unveiled a host of new sector-specific programs. Cybersecurity experts and key speakers from globally renowned brands have confirmed their participation in this year’s edition, which will take place from October 14 to 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Here are the full details of what’s new in 2024:

GITEX 2024 Editions

In line with Dubai’s ambition to become the home of 30 unicorn startups by 2030, GITEX Global 2024 is launching GITEX Editions, the region’s most influential gathering to enhance strategy, created to accelerate the growth and global governance of high-growth companies. The confirmed speakers’ list includes eight fast-growing startups from eight countries, three of which are backed by the European Innovation Council (EIC).

Artificial Intelligence: Fabrizio Del Maffeo, Co-Founder, CEO, and Board Member, Axelera AI (Netherlands) An expert in developing next-gen AI and edge computing infrastructure, Axelera AI aims to become the “European Nvidia,” supported by Samsung and the EIC. Valued at $500 million, GITEX Global marks its first-ever appearance in the Middle East.

Synthetic Biotechnology: Dr. Alex Zhavoronkov, Founder and CEO of InSilico Medicine (Hong Kong) Zhavoronkov leads the biotech company that achieved the fastest IPO in the world and is currently valued at $1.5 billion. He will discuss pioneering developments in AI-driven drug discovery, synthetic biology, and aging.

Sustainable Biotechnology: Dr. Mazen Rizk, Founder and CEO of Infinite Roots (Germany) The largest investment in fungal biotechnology in the EU, aiming to build next-gen sustainable alternative proteins. A Series B funded company supported by the EIC.

Deep Quantum Technology: Dr. Joseph Fitzsimons, Founder and CEO of Horizon Quantum Computing (Singapore) Singapore’s largest quantum startup, supported by SG Innovate, Sequoia, and Tencent.

Deep Tech Semiconductors: Dr. Seongyeon Park, Founder and CEO of Rebellions (South Korea) Set to become the first unicorn specializing in semiconductors with a valuation of $1.5 billion after acquiring Sapeon AI.

Propulsion Technology: Svilen Rangelov, Co-Founder and CEO of Dronamics (UK) The world’s first cargo drone airline on a mission to revolutionize global e-commerce, part of the EIC scaling club.

Emilio Scervo, CTO and Board Member, Bugatti Rimac (Croatia) The world’s fastest hypercars. Valued at $5 billion, the first and fastest-growing unicorn in Croatia.

Supercomputing Semiconductors: Philippe Notton, Founder and CEO of SiPearl (France) A manufacturer of high-performance semiconductors for AI interfaces and supercomputing aimed at European technological sovereignty.

Cybersecurity Conference Program

GITEX Global 2024 puts cybersecurity at the forefront with real business stories, AI-driven live hacks, and intense debates among CISOs. First-time participants include Chenxi Wang, Managing General Partner at Rain Capital (USA), a Fortune 500-listed fund, and Ekaterina Serban, VP of Privacy and Information Security at Bosch (Germany), the world’s largest supplier of automotive and services.

Having been named the world’s top international cybersecurity investor by Fortune magazine, Wang will join the stage alongside global venture capital firms and investment partners to discuss the driving forces behind the growing global interest in advanced security solutions and the increase in M&A activity within the cybersecurity sector. In another must-see discussion, Serban will engage with CISOs and CIOs about strategies for board-level adoption of cybersecurity.

New Industry Experts on the Dialogue Stage in 2024

For the first time ever, Michael Spranger, CEO of Sony AI Inc., will address delegates from 180 countries at GITEX Global 2024, revealing the latest ongoing projects at Sony’s strategic R&D organization.

Also making a debut is Chris Duffey, Futurist and Head of GenStudio, Adobe, USA. Duffey co-authored the world’s first book with AI and has been instrumental in pushing generative AI to assist creatives.

Isabelle Gradert, VP of Central Research and Technology at Airbus in Germany, will make her regional debut at the world’s largest tech and startup event.
