- Careem Launches Careem Food Catering Service to Simplify Event Catering Across the UAE
Subheadline: - New service enables customers to pre-book catering from more than 20 providers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with plans to expand across other emirates.
Careem has launched Careem Food Catering in the United Arab Emirates, expanding its digital services by enabling customers to book catering for events, gatherings, and special occasions directly through the Careem app.
The new service gives users in Dubai and Abu Dhabi access to more than 20 catering providers, including Gazebo, Al Fanar, and Pret A Manger, through a seamless digital booking experience designed for family gatherings, private celebrations, and corporate events.
Meeting Growing Demand for Catering Services
Careem said the launch comes in response to rising demand for large-group catering, with the platform recording a significant increase in catering-related searches, office meal orders, and requests for large gatherings over the past few months.
The service is designed to simplify event planning during the UAE’s summer season, when most social gatherings move indoors, including family get-togethers, birthday celebrations, sports viewing parties, and corporate meetings.
Advance Booking of Up to 15 Days
Unlike traditional on-demand food delivery, Careem Food Catering allows customers to schedule orders in advance.
Depending on the catering provider, bookings can be placed 24 to 72 hours before an event, while customers can plan occasions up to 15 days in advance.
The platform offers customized menus for groups ranging from 10 guests to events hosting up to 60 people, with minimum order values starting at AED 350.
A Wide Range of Catering Options
The service offers multiple catering formats, including family-style feasts, sharing platters, corporate catering, reception services, live cooking stations, and mobile food carts that provide on-site dining experiences.
Several catering partners also offer professional hospitality staff, allowing hosts to focus on their guests while service providers handle the operational details.
Careem Eyes Leadership in the Catering Market
Norhan Farhat, Vice President of Shops and Platform Businesses at Careem, said food plays a central role in every gathering, noting that the company aims to simplify catering services in a market that still relies heavily on traditional booking methods.
She added that the new service gives customers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi convenient access to leading catering providers through a trusted digital platform, reinforcing Careem’s ambition to become the preferred destination for event catering throughout the year.
Meanwhile, Danish Irfan Gaya, Manager of Gazebo Restaurant, said the partnership with Careem will help catering providers reach a broader customer base through a trusted digital platform, enabling them to focus on delivering high-quality food and service.
Careem said the launch of Careem Food Catering marks the first phase of its broader strategy to expand its catering business, with plans to onboard additional catering partners, introduce more menu customization options, and roll out the service across more emirates in the coming months.
