- Oman Investment Authority Invests in Neuralink to Support Brain-Computer Technologies
- The investment will support Neuralink in advancing healthcare technologies through the development of neural implants designed to enable direct communication between humans and digital devices.
- The move comes as part of the Oman Investment Authority’s expansion strategy across more than 52 countries worldwide.
Oman Investment Authority has announced an investment in Neuralink, the U.S.-based company specializing in brain-computer interface technologies, as part of its strategy to expand investments in future technologies and the healthcare sector.
The authority did not disclose the value of the investment in Neuralink.
Neuralink develops advanced neural implants designed to be inserted into the brain, enabling direct communication between humans and digital devices in an effort to support the treatment of complex neurological disorders and improve patients’ quality of life.
The technology is aimed at helping patients suffering from strokes and neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS by converting brain signals into digital commands that allow users to control devices or type using thought alone.
The company has recently achieved significant progress in its clinical trials after its first human patient successfully controlled a computer and typed through brain signals, highlighting the technology’s potential to restore a degree of independence for patients.
The investment aligns with the Oman Investment Authority’s strategy to diversify its international portfolio and strengthen its presence in deep-tech sectors, especially after Neuralink received regulatory approvals to conduct human clinical trials in the United States using advanced robotic surgical systems.
By January 2026, Neuralink had implanted its neural devices in 21 patients, including 17 cases during 2025, reflecting the accelerating pace of its clinical expansion.
The company is also developing its “Blindsight” project, a neuro-visual device aimed at restoring vision by stimulating the brain’s visual cortex using digital camera inputs.
The Oman Investment Authority continues to expand its international investments across more than 52 countries as part of its efforts to support economic diversification and generate sustainable returns, following record financial results achieved in 2025 that strengthened its position among the world’s leading sovereign wealth funds.
