The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority announced the opening of registration for data service and product providers on the National Data Governance Platform, enabling them to apply for licenses related to data governance activities.
This step comes as part of SDAIA’s ongoing efforts to regulate activities related to personal data protection and enable entities to obtain the necessary licenses to conduct their operations in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law and its executive regulations.
According to the announcement, the platform will allow entities to apply for licenses covering accreditation certification activities for data controllers and processors, as well as audit and inspection services related to personal data processing.
SDAIA also invited interested organizations to register for upcoming virtual awareness workshops, which will introduce the registration procedures and licensing requirements for these activities.
The authority added that it will soon announce the technical standards for licensing accreditation certification activities for data controllers and processors, along with the criteria for audit and inspection services related to personal data processing, in addition to the standards governing the issuance of accreditation certificates.
Early registration will provide applicants with priority in the upcoming regulatory phases related to licensing and accreditation. Entities interested in applying can review the registration guide and access the National Data Governance Platform to complete their applications.
