Karim Obeid, CEO of Hala Kommers, spoke at the Techne Conference about the company’s role in helping young entrepreneurs in Egypt start their e-commerce businesses in Saudi Arabia. He explained that Hala Kommers provides the necessary infrastructure, including storage services, importing from China, and shipping solutions, through a single platform that simplifies the process of connecting sales platforms with logistics and payment systems.
Company Operations in the Egyptian Market
Karim noted that Hala Kommers has been operating in the Egyptian market for over a year, working with more than 12 official companies. They also offer opportunities for individuals without a commercial registry to start their businesses via their platform.
Participation in Techne Conference
Regarding their participation in the conference, Karim stated that the goal is to connect with more Egyptian companies and build new partnerships, focusing on helping small businesses and young entrepreneurs enter the e-commerce market in the Gulf region.
Importance of the Saudi Market
Karim emphasized that the Saudi market is one of the fastest-growing e-commerce markets globally. The market exceeded $6 billion last year, with an expected growth of 40% in the coming year, representing a significant opportunity for Egyptian entrepreneurs to expand into the Saudi market.
Future Expansion Plans
Karim added that the company plans to expand over the next two years, aiming to reach a monthly turnover of $10 million. They are also planning to expand their warehouses to accommodate more companies and clients.
