Graduation of 14 Startups in FoodTech through the Sunbolah Program in Riyadh

On Wednesday, October 9th, Riyadh witnessed a significant event in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, with the graduation of the first cohort of startups in the FoodTech sector under the “Sunbolah” program, which focuses on fostering entrepreneurship in food and agricultural technologies.

The incubator program spanned over 16 weeks, during which the startups received intensive support and guidance to develop their ideas and turn their initial products into market-ready products for the Saudi market.

The incubator provided more than 220 hours of intensive mentoring, in addition to organizing six different events, which contributed to the creation of over 60 new jobs.

This highlights the program’s role in enhancing innovation, driving the national economy, and providing new job opportunities.

The Demo Day was not just a celebration of successes but a real opportunity for investors and potential partners to explore the innovative solutions presented by the startups in the FoodTech sector.

The event was attended by several officials, investors, and experts in the food sector, where the most prominent ideas and projects aimed at advancing the food industry through technology were showcased, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a leader in supporting entrepreneurship in this field.

The “Sunbolah” program, specializing in FoodTech and AgriTech, is part of the efforts by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture to promote innovation and support entrepreneurship in the Kingdom.

It is one of three entrepreneurial programs managed by the ministry, alongside the “Sahabah” program, which specializes in water technologies, and the “Sedrah” program, which focuses on environmental and sustainability technologies.

All these programs aim to empower youth and equip them with the knowledge and support needed to turn their ideas into successful projects that contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
