Edafa Venture Capital Unveils Expansion Plans in Egypt and the Gulf
Edafa Venture Capital is set to expand its operations in the Egyptian market after a series of successful ventures in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Youssef Saqr, General Manager of Edafa Venture Capital, revealed the company’s plans to open two new branches in the Arab region, including one in Bahrain and another in Qatar.
In an exclusive interview with “Entarabi” on the sidelines of the 10th annual Techne Summit in Alexandria, Saqr disclosed that Edafa Venture Capital owns three specialized companies.
These include one focused on technological solutions and information, another on marketing, and a third on venture capital.
The latter provides comprehensive support to entrepreneurs and startups by encouraging bold and innovative ideas, particularly those attractive to youth and emerging businesses.
Saqr emphasized that Edafa Venture Capital offers more than just financial support to entrepreneurs and startups.
Through its group, the company provides technical, logistical, and marketing assistance to ensure the continued success and growth of these businesses.
He acknowledged that while there is a 5-10% chance that some ventures may face challenges, other operations and deals help offset potential setbacks.
Saqr pointed out that the Techne Summit presents an excellent opportunity to explore new ideas, engage with startups, and discuss potential partnerships with investment funds and companies.
He also noted that there were several promising ideas that emerged from meetings and cooperation agreements signed with more than 35 companies during the Techne Summit, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence technologies, which he described as a key area of interest.
Saqr further revealed Edafa Venture Capital’s genuine efforts to expand in the Arab region and the Middle East, particularly following its successes in Saudi Arabia and ongoing expansion in Egypt, with future plans for other areas in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Saqr mentioned that Edafa Venture Capital is open to forming partnerships with Egyptian and Arab investment funds to expand its operations and maximize the benefits for startups and entrepreneurs, citing potential collaborations with organizations like Flat6Labs, Sawari, and others.
