Cairo University’s Faculty of Economics Team Wins First Place in the Arab FinTech Challenge at GITEX GLOBAL 2024
The team from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University secured first place in the “Arab FinTech Challenge” competition, held in Dubai as part of the GITEX GLOBAL 2024 exhibition.
The team presented an innovative project called “EZRA3LY,” a mobile application that connects all elements of the agricultural supply chain, from input suppliers to the final trader, enhancing coordination and increasing efficiency in the sector. The project was developed under the supervision of Dr. Yasmine Gharib, an economics lecturer at the faculty, with guidance from mentors at the United Bank and the Central Bank of Egypt, in coordination with the Egyptian Banking Institute.
It is worth mentioning that the team from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science qualified as one of the top ten university teams in the “Fintech Got Talent” competition, which is part of the “FinYology” initiative organized by the Central Bank of Egypt in collaboration with the Egyptian Banking Institute. A total of 24 public, private, and national universities participated in the competition.
The winning team included students: Menna Waleed, Shahd Mohamed, Nora Raef, Malak Wael, and Shahd Essam.
