Farid, an Egyptian edtech startup, has announced securing $250,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Saudi businesswoman Amal bint Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan. This funding comes at a pivotal moment as the company forges strategic partnerships with various schools across Egypt.

Farid specializes in character education and mental health support for children and youth aged 3 to 18, utilizing modern educational approaches to enhance personal and psychological development.

Founded by Mahmoud Hussein in 2024, Farid has quickly gained recognition for offering innovative educational solutions aimed at improving children’s well-being and strengthening their personal skills. Hussein, leveraging his vast experience in education and personal development, has crafted a platform that stands out in the region.

Farid is the first and leading platform in the Middle East and North Africa to offer one-on-one, personalized sessions focused on character building and mental health support for Arab children. The platform also provides training for youth and graduates to become certified trainers in Farid’s unique educational and psychological methods.

In a statement, Mahmoud Hussein, founder and CEO of Farid, expressed his excitement over the funding, emphasizing his pride in the trust placed by Amal bint Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan. He highlighted that the investment will fuel the platform’s growth, including the development of new training content, recruitment of staff and trainers, and expansion into Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Farid’s long-term goals include regional growth by integrating its platform into more schools and educational institutions in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the UAE. Over the next two years, the company aims to reach 20,000 subscribers.

Additionally, Farid plans to enrich its offerings by incorporating workshops and new curricula designed to enhance children’s personal skills, foster their talents, and support their mental health, equipping them to face future challenges with confidence. By 2030, Farid aims to train 10,000 education graduates to become certified trainers in its methodology, further contributing to the development of the region’s education sector.
