The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, in collaboration with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn,” represented by the Industrial Innovation Academy, has launched the “Rising Omani Startups Programme” Accelerator. This program aims to empower startups in Oman, stimulate innovation, and enhance entrepreneurship and economic development. It also seeks to develop and administratively qualify startups by providing the necessary support through mentoring, financing, and training to ensure their success and growth.
The accelerator will operate in two phases: the “Idea Phase” and the “Pre-Seed Phase,” over four months at Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
In the “Idea Phase,” the accelerator targets supporting 20 innovative ideas across various economic sectors. This program focuses on helping entrepreneurs with new ideas who wish to turn them into successful projects. The accelerator provides the necessary guidance and mentoring to transform these ideas into sustainable business models.
In the “Pre-Seed Phase,” the accelerator targets supporting 20 projects in the food security, real estate, tourism, and health sectors. The program aims to assist entrepreneurs in the early stages of developing their projects, where they need additional guidance and resources to turn their ideas into successful ventures. The focus is on providing comprehensive support to enable entrepreneurs to reach the funding stage.
The targeted startups will receive several essential services, including office spaces that provide an entrepreneurial business environment at Knowledge Oasis Muscat, and support in turning ideas into products and services through a range of facilities. Additionally, they will have access to specialized training and consulting services, networking opportunities that facilitate access to investors, participation in international exhibitions, and easier access to venture capital and angel investors.
