Today…The 5th ed. of the “Startups Without Borders” Summit Begins

Cairo, May 10, 2024: Today marks the commencement of the fifth edition of the “Startups Without Borders” summit under the theme of “Building Global Horizons.” The summit runs from May 10th to May 11th. The fifth edition witnesses the participation of over 5000 entrepreneurs and innovators from around the world, along with speakers from London, Italy, Japan, the United States, Senegal, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, as well as experts in the field of startups such as Ibrahim Sagna, Sadaharu Saiki, and Michael Lints.

For the first time in Egypt, the fifth edition includes the launch of the AI Salon in partnership with  Jeff Abbot, the co-founder of the American venture capital firm Blitzscaling Ventures. The “Startups Without Borders” summit serves as the exclusive platform for the salon in Egypt and the Middle East. The panel discussion features a conversation between Reid Hoffman and Chris Yeh, the General Partner at Blitzscaling.

Given the pivotal role entertainment plays in supporting and empowering entrepreneurs, the summit includes diverse dialogue sessions with Shark Tanks led by Abdullah Sallam, the CEO and Managing Director of Egypt’s City Company, as well as a session on “Connecting Entertainment with Business: How Shark Tank Inspires Millions to Start Their Ventures.” This session will be led by prominent figures including Amr Mansy, the CEO and Founder of ievents, and Ahmed Tarek, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yanz for Maritime Logistics Services, moderated by Emi Movi, the Co-Founder of Mo4Network.

The first day’s events also include another session on the potential of creative content in reshaping storytelling in the Middle East, featuring Mai Abdelazim, the CEO of Media and More, and Mai Salama, a Co-Founder at Creative Industry Summit. Additionally, there’s a special collaboration with the Egyptian startup Widebot for Artificial Intelligence, providing attendees of the fifth edition with virtual assistance for navigation and schedule awareness. The summit will host Wael Altorabi, a Saudi entrepreneur and founder of Qewam Company, who will share his experience in establishing and exiting three other companies and his mission to build a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.

Valentina Primo, the Founder of the “Startups Without Borders” summit, stated, “We aim to provide a platform for prominent speakers to share their experiences and engage in fruitful discussions and idea exchange benefiting young entrepreneurs and innovators.” Primo also expressed her pride in launching the Artificial Intelligence Salon in Cairo, a new format of events reaching the Middle East for the first time, focusing on a range of engaging and innovative discussions about AI and how it can be a game-changer across industries.

It’s worth noting that the summit’s events will feature a selection of speakers including top investors, venture capitalists, and incubator officials who will discuss and unveil the new investment world, along with over 30 workshops offering entrepreneurs numerous ideas and tools for growth and expansion, from building sales plans to understanding the power of artificial intelligence.
