Strategic Alliance between Oracle and du to Enhance Cloud Services in the UAE

Oracle and du, a subsidiary of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, one of the largest telecommunications service providers in the Middle East, have announced a collaboration agreement to deploy the Oracle Alloy platform.

This initiative aims to support the rollout of extensive cloud services for public sector clients in the United Arab Emirates.

The agreement was signed during the Oracle CloudWorld Tour Dubai event, with the participation of Jasim Alawadi, Acting Chief Information and Technology Officer at du, and Nick Readshaw, Senior Vice President – Cloud Technology, Middle East and Africa, and Regional Managing Director for the United Arab Emirates at Oracle.

Jasim Alawadi, Acting Chief Information and Technology Officer at du, emphasized that the United Arab Emirates is one of the fastest-growing cloud services markets globally.

He highlighted the continued adoption of cloud services by government institutions in the country to realize benefits such as flexibility, efficiency, security, and access to cutting-edge digital technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Alawadi added, “This collaboration represents a significant step in our digital transformation journey. Additionally, our ability to deploy cloud services in a dedicated region within a local data center is crucial, especially as it will assist government sector clients in accelerating their digital transformation initiatives using locally available infrastructure.”

Nick Readshaw from Oracle underscored the importance of expanding the scope of cloud services within Oracle’s distributed cloud strategy.

He praised du’s strong customer network and local capabilities, enabling it to assist government institutions in the UAE in fully leveraging Oracle’s offerings, including high performance, flexibility, and security.

This move aligns with the commitment of both companies to enhance advanced technological services in the region and drive digital transformation for the government sector in the United Arab Emirates.
