KuCoin Takes Center Stage in COP28 Dubai Forum on Sustainable Finance

KuCoin, one of the world’s top five cryptocurrency exchanges, proudly participated in the Sustainable Finance Forum for Environmental Conservation at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

This forum, organized by the Corporate Social Responsibility International Foundation, was held at the Rotary Pavilion.

The COP28 conference, hosting a diverse group of over 90,000 participants, is expected to serve as a crucial platform for advancing global efforts on climate action.

The Sustainable Finance Forum highlighted the integration of sustainability into the financial system by raising awareness and leveraging technology.

Nancy Cheung, Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) at KuCoin, delivered a keynote speech on the pivotal role of “Environmentally Friendly Blockchain Technology.”

Cheung emphasized how blockchain and decentralized technology can bring positive changes to society. She stated, “KuCoin is strongly committed to promoting environmentally sustainable finance and development.

We call on everyone to unite in achieving this great work, making the world a better and more environmentally friendly place.”

Prominent guests at the forum included Patrick Bolton, former president of the American Finance Association, and Beatrice Weder di Mauro, president of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).

They exchanged views on the impact of climate change on finance.

Climate change has long been a pressing concern globally, posing a universal challenge to humanity.

Blockchain technology, as an emerging solution, has the potential to drive collective adoption and comprehensive application of environmentally conscious finance.

Its transparency, traceability, and stability make it a vital player in global efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

Additionally, these promising capabilities create demand for skilled blockchain professionals in the sustainability sector, opening up more opportunities for the future.

Decentralization, at its core, revolves around distributing power away from central authority, often seen as a progressive step to improve the structure of human society.

This shift could democratize access to opportunities and resources, removing barriers based on geography, social and economic status, and gender biases, thereby promoting equal opportunities for women and underrepresented groups.

As a deeply engaged institution in the blockchain sector, KuCoin propels the industry towards collaboration, utilizing its resources to enhance a sustainable future as one team.

Together, we can create an environmentally friendly atmosphere and build a brighter tomorrow.
