Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence Participates in UN Climate Change Conference COP 28

Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence has announced its distinguished participation in the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 28, held at the Green Education Center in the United Arab Emirates, organized by the Ministry of Education.

The conference aims to emphasize the role of artificial intelligence in accelerating innovation and supporting society in facing the challenges of climate change.

From November 30 to December 12, 2023, the university is expected to showcase its latest research at the conference, with over 70,000 participants, including heads of states, government officials, industry leaders, academics, and representatives of civil society.

The research covers a wide range of topics, including generative artificial intelligence, large linguistic models, operational AI systems, remote patient monitoring technology, and AI-supported solutions for detecting and mitigating risks and diseases.

The university highlights its leading role in developing the artificial intelligence system in the United Arab Emirates, where talented experts contribute to progress in various sectors. The university aims to support institutions in adopting artificial intelligence to address climate change challenges, a key research focus alongside education and health.

The university’s president, Professor Eric Zeng, will deliver a keynote speech on “Artificial Intelligence: Path to Sustainability or Existential Threat?” Meanwhile, Sultan Al Hajji, Deputy President of the University, will participate in a discussion session on the UAE’s vision for artificial intelligence, education, and sustainability. Several faculty members will also engage in workshops and discussion sessions to exchange experiences and ideas.

Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence is expected to actively contribute to providing solutions to global challenges, such as combating diseases and promoting sustainability. Participants in the conference are anticipated to have the opportunity to review and understand innovative developments in artificial intelligence and their impact on improving daily life and solving global problems.
