- Saudi Game Studio Ash Games Raises $1.5M Seed Round to Bring Local Stories to the Global Gaming Market
- Funding will support the development of Nomad, expand the studio’s team, and accelerate the global launch of Saudi-made games
Saudi game development studio Ash Games has raised $1.5 million in a Seed funding round, co-led by Merak Capital and Impact46 through the Merak Gaming Fund, to accelerate game development and expand its presence in international markets.
The investment comes as Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its gaming ecosystem by supporting local studios and fostering original intellectual property (IP) with global potential.
Developing Games Inspired by Saudi Culture
Founded in 2022 by Anas Bakhsh, Yasser Al-Ahmadi, and Saud Bakolka, Ash Games focuses on developing action and adventure games for PC and console platforms, drawing inspiration from Saudi history, folklore, and Arabian mythology.
The studio aims to deliver globally competitive gaming experiences while showcasing Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural identity through original storytelling and immersive gameplay.
Nomad Leads the Studio’s Global Ambitions
Ash Games is currently developing its flagship title, Nomad, an action-adventure game inspired by ancient Arabian legends. The game is scheduled for release in 2027 across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
The studio has also developed Azooma Escape, a stealth-comedy game inspired by everyday life in Saudi Arabia, reflecting its strategy of creating culturally driven entertainment experiences with international appeal.
Funding to Accelerate Growth
The newly raised capital will be used to strengthen game development capabilities, expand the company’s workforce, and support global publishing and marketing efforts.
Ash Games currently operates with a remote team of 18 employees and plans to scale its production capacity as it works to bring more Saudi-developed games to international audiences.
The expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader ambition to establish itself as a regional and global hub for the gaming industry under its long-term economic diversification strategy.
