Morocco’s Tamweelcom launches “Startup Venture Building” at GITEX Africa 2026 to support startups from idea to scale

The program aims to back 800 startups over three years with more than $70 million in funding, reinforcing Morocco’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Tamweelcom has launched a new initiative titled “Startup Venture Building” on the sidelines of GITEX Africa 2026, designed to support startups at every stage of their journey, from ideation to scale.

The program targets 800 startups over a three-year period, with a total financial commitment exceeding $70 million, in line with Morocco’s efforts to strengthen its innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Program Details

The Startup Venture Building program focuses on delivering end-to-end support, including financing, technical assistance, mentorship, and market access to help startups grow and scale.

The initiative is being rolled out in collaboration with a group of leading local and international partners, including Technopark Maroc, CEED Maroc, Flat6Labs, and 500 Global.

The goal is to transfer global best practices into the Moroccan market while providing practical expertise that strengthens startup development and improves success rates.

The program also offers flexible financing tools tailored to different growth stages, including prototype development grants, funding of up to MAD 2 million (around $220,000), in addition to monthly financial support for founders during the launch phase.

This approach helps reduce early-stage financial pressure, allowing founders to focus on building products and refining their business models.

The initiative also builds on previous programs such as Innov Invest, aiming to address long-standing challenges faced by entrepreneurs, particularly around access to capital and achieving sustainable growth.

Applications are expected to open in the coming weeks, with the program positioned to create a meaningful impact on Morocco’s startup ecosystem by helping build a new generation of companies capable of competing both regionally and globally—especially amid growing international interest in emerging African markets.
