- The Fifth Edition of the Saudi Media Forum Highlights the Role of Emerging Technologies in Redefining the Regional Media Landscape
Media experts, political officials, and decision-makers from a number of global and international institutions discussed the future of the media technology industry and its connection to technological tools and artificial intelligence in enhancing social awareness and supporting investment.
The discussion took place during a specialized session held as part of the fifth edition of the Saudi Media Forum 2026.
The discussions coincided with the launch of the Saudi Media Forum 2026, held under the theme “Media in a Shaping World,” under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The forum took place from February 2 to 4 in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The Saudi Media Forum serves as a national and regional platform that brings together decision-makers and experts to discuss the latest developments in the media sector and anticipate its future.
It aims to enhance integration between media and technology, empower national talent, and develop content in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The forum features panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions, and hosts a distinguished group of local and international speakers from across the media industry.
The panel discussion, titled “The Media Technology Industry Landscape: Mapping Impact and Leading Transformation,” reviewed the current state of the media technology industry and its impact on society, as well as the influence of modern media technologies and how they can drive social and economic change.
Participants in the session included Luis Hernandez, Founder and CEO Dragon of Black; Governor Charlotte Leslie, Director of the Middle East Council; and Rainer Nuhiju, Political Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kosovo.
The session addressed the role of artificial intelligence and its contributions to the media sector and various other fields, in addition to the challenges facing investors.
It highlighted that many investors have benefited from AI by conducting pilot projects aimed at unlocking added value.
The discussion also shed light on the impact of media on audiences and decision-makers, how media technologies can be leveraged to improve communication, and the potential role of media innovation in enhancing social awareness.
