  • Saudi Research and Media Group SRMG has increased its ownership in Thmanyah Publishing and Distribution to 75%, while its subsidiary Arabian Media Services Company has committed up to SAR 200 million in additional funding over four years to support operations and expansion.
  • The financial impact of the deal is expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
  • The agreement aligns with SRMG’s broader strategy to expand its investments in digital media and sports content, following Thmanyah’s entry into Saudi football broadcasting rights, marking a continued push into the sports media and entertainment sector.

Saudi Research and Media Group SRMG announced that its fully owned subsidiary Arabian Media Services Company has entered into an agreement with partners in Thmanyah Publishing and Distribution to increase its ownership stake from 51% to 75%, following regulatory approvals.

The transaction includes a capital increase through settlement and capitalization of previous payments and financing worth SAR 52.36 million, in addition to a SAR 45 million payment to existing partners.

SRMG will also provide an additional financing facility of up to SAR 200 million over four years to support Thmanyah’s operational expansion, with financial impact expected from the second half of 2026.

The move aligns with SRMG’s strategy to expand its footprint in digital media and sports content, particularly after Thmanyah secured a landmark SAR 2.32 billion deal for exclusive broadcasting rights of Saudi football competitions until 2031, including the Saudi Pro League, King’s Cup, and other tournaments.

Thmanyah has also evolved from a podcast-focused platform into a full-scale sports and entertainment media ecosystem, launching a hybrid streaming model combining free and premium content, alongside production partnerships and expanded sports programming.
