Fintech Leads as Startup Investments in MENA Hit $508.64 Million

Total startup funding across the Middle East, Africa, and the Gulf region surged to $508.64 million by the end of April, up from $69.6 million in March, marking a significant growth of 723.6%.

According to the monthly startup investment report published by entArabi for April 2026, a total of 24 deals were recorded during the month, including 21 disclosed transactions.

The fintech sector dominated investment activity, attracting $481.5 million—accounting for 94.7% of total funding—across four deals.

It was followed by the artificial intelligence sector, which secured $45.85 million through five deals, representing 9.01% of total transactions.

E-commerce ranked third, with investments totaling $22.2 million across five startups, representing 4.36% of total funding.

Chazm

UAE-based Shorooq Partners participated in a $10.3 million Series A round for South Korea-based fintech platform Chazm.

The round was led by Stonebridge Ventures, with participation from KB Investment, Futureplay, Zero1NE Ventures (Hyundai Motor Group’s investment arm), and LX Ventures.

Signit

Saudi-based Signit raised $15 million in a Series A round to expand its AI-powered contract management and digital signature services.
