AlGooru Secures $4 Million in Funding
AlGooru, a Saudi-based educational technology platform, has raised $4 million in a Pre-Series A funding round through a combination of debt and equity financing. The round was led by Constructor Capital, with participation from Hub71 and several angel investors and family offices.
The new funding will be used to expand the platform’s operations in Saudi Arabia, with a focus on live tutoring, as well as to develop its AI-based technologies. The funding also aims to help the platform enter new sectors through strategic partnerships, which will be announced in 2025.
Founded in 2021 by Khalid W. Abou Kassem and Omer Awad, AlGooru is the first licensed tutoring platform in Saudi Arabia, enabling students to connect with private tutors on demand. The platform offers lessons in 20 core subjects, including mathematics, science, language development, and essential skills.
In 2022, the platform raised $1.8 million in a Seed round led by RazGroup, RZM Investment, 100 Ventures, RAY Investment, and angel investors. It also secured $2.25 million in a Pre-Seed round in November 2021 through AlNawa Global, the Oqal Angel Investors Network, and Techstars.
Matthias Winter, Managing Partner at Constructor Capital, noted that this investment marks the company’s first in the Middle East and North Africa region and Saudi Arabia.
