DeltaStream Secures $15 Million in Series A Funding

DeltaStream, a  serverless stream processing platform, has announced raising $15 million in Series A funding. Investors include New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Galaxy Interactive, and Sanabil Investments. This funding will drive DeltaStream’s mission to provide a comprehensive serverless platform for managing, securing, and processing streaming data from various sources.

With the growing importance of real-time data, platforms like Apache Kafka have become indispensable in industries relying on data-driven decisions. DeltaStream, founded by Hojjat Jafarpour, CEO and creator of ksqlDB, simplifies the development of real-time applications using SQL. Leveraging Apache Flink©, the platform offers an easy-to-use solution for businesses of all sizes. Available as a fully managed service or a bring-your-own-cloud (BYOC) model, DeltaStream delivers flexible options to suit various needs.

Jafarpour explained, “While real-time data is essential for modern applications, managing it has been both complex and expensive. DeltaStream’s serverless platform simplifies infrastructure management, allowing teams to focus on building their applications.” He added that DeltaStream offers a complete view of real-time data across different data stores, featuring role-based access control and secure sharing.

DeltaStream integrates seamlessly with platforms like Databricks and Snowflake, enabling real-time data pipelines from systems like Apache Kafka to these cloud solutions. Aaron Jacobson, NEA partner and board member at DeltaStream, noted that one of the platform’s key benefits is removing the operational complexity of Apache Flink©, offering businesses a faster and more cost-effective route to market.

Galaxy Interactive Partner Jeff Brown added, “DeltaStream’s enterprise-grade solution leads the way in real-time streaming, enabling businesses to stay competitive by delivering low-latency, intelligent decision-making capabilities.”
