KBW Ventures Invests in Egyptian Climate Tech Startup NoorNation
NoorNation, an Egyptian climate tech company, has secured undisclosed funding from KBW Ventures. Founded in 2021 by Ragy Ramadan, NoorNation focuses on delivering innovative energy and water infrastructure solutions using technology for the off-grid energy sector.
The company’s product, LifeBox, provides clean energy and safe water to rural communities, farms, and tourism businesses at affordable prices, positioning it as a green infrastructure solution in the region.
NoorNation was recently honored as the Best Green Tech Startup in North Africa for 2024 by the Global Startup Awards. The company also participated in the PepsiCo Greenhouse Accelerator: MENA Sustainability Edition, where it received a $20,000 grant.
Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed expressed his admiration for NoorNation and its potential, particularly after seeing their presentation at the PepsiCo Greenhouse Accelerator finals held in Dubai. He stated that the company’s business model aligns perfectly with his vision for climate tech, noting that NoorNation is the first Egyptian startup to receive investment from KBW Ventures.
Ragy Ramadan, the founder and CEO of NoorNation, explained that LifeBox is a solar-powered, self-sustaining unit that directly contributes to local manufacturing and sustainability governance. He emphasized that this unit enables clients in agriculture, tourism, and rural communities to achieve their triple bottom line: social, financial, and environmental growth.
