Riyadh, March 4, 2024: The third edition of the “LEAP 24” technical conference, the world’s largest event of its kind, kicked off on Monday morning under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense.
Support from the Crown Prince:
During the conference’s opening, Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized the significant support the technology sector receives from the Crown Prince, reflecting his belief in the importance of the digital economy in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Massive Investments:
The conference witnessed several global companies announcing massive investments in the Kingdom, reflecting their confidence in its capabilities and attractive investment environment.
Key Investments:
- Amazon Web Services: $5.3 billion to build a new cloud region.
- IBM: $500 million to establish a software development center.
- ServiceNow: $500 million to launch a local cloud center.
- Datavolt: $5 billion to build local data centers.
- Dell Technologies: Establishing a manufacturing and execution center, the first of its kind in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey.
- Aramco: Revealed the “AmarcoMETABrain” model for artificial intelligence during the conference, a unique model considered the first of its kind in the industrial sector.
