The Wahed Invest platform expands its technology services in the UAE

Abu Dhabi: Wahed Invest Limited, the UAE robo-advisory subsidiary of Wahed Inc., a global Shariah-compliant fintech, has officially launched in the UAE after receiving Financial Services Permission (FSP) from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

This marks a significant milestone as Wahed becomes the first dedicated Islamic digital investment management platform in the UAE.

Wahed aims to promote financial inclusion by providing accessible, affordable, and value-based investing services. The platform offers financial services to UAE residents, allowing them to invest in a diversified, Shariah-compliant portfolio through its digital application.

The goal is to empower Muslims to take control of their investments with a transparent and selective Shariah-compliant portfolio.

Designed to cater to both financially savvy investors and those with limited financial knowledge, Wahed sets itself apart with low starting investment minimums of USD 500, minimal fees, and no lock-in period. These features aim to break down barriers to sophisticated investment management that were traditionally reserved for high-net-worth individuals.

Junaid Wahedna, CEO at Wahed Inc., expressed his excitement about bringing their technology and investment efficiencies to the UAE, emphasizing their commitment to fostering a savings culture in a safe and Shariah-compliant manner.

Arvind Ramamurthy, Chief of Markets at ADGM, welcomed Wahed to ADGM’s financial center and acknowledged the firm’s contribution to Abu Dhabi’s growing digital economy. ADGM’s progressive regulatory ecosystem aims to support Fintech innovators and facilitate a collaborative and enabling marketplace.

Since its inception in 2015, Wahed has garnered over 300,000 customers globally and raised more than USD 75 million in funding from family offices, institutions, and high-profile backers.

The platform’s mission is to transform how the Muslim community engages in global financial markets, making investing accessible and ethically acceptable for the 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide.

Upon signing up for the Wahed App, users can swiftly create an account, and the app will suggest a portfolio based on their responses to questions about their financial situation, risk tolerance, and investment goals.

With a minimum investment of USD 100 and fractional traditional management fees, Wahed ensures diversified portfolios for investors of various profiles, making investing efficient for entrepreneurs, professionals, and homemakers alike.
