Global Entrepreneurship Week 2023

The Global Entrepreneurship Week was organized at the headquarters of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, providing a unique opportunity for young individuals to exchange experiences and enhance their abilities in the field of entrepreneurship.

This event, themed “Passion for Entrepreneurship,” witnessed inspirational presentations and innovative works in the fields of innovation and renewable energy. It was attended by academics, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts passionate about entrepreneurship.

The week covered various crucial topics such as the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, success stories, and highlighted the role of the Islamic Development Bank in supporting young people to embark on new projects.

The activities included sessions discussing fundamental terms for successful entrepreneurial projects such as creativity and innovation. Additionally, the University of Business and Technology presented insights on using social media and digital content creation in the field of entrepreneurship. They also shed light on the importance of digital marketing and utilizing Google analytics to increase personal income and transform passion into successful business ventures.

Successful Experiences in the Global Entrepreneurship Week

Osama Khogali, the Knowledge and Innovation Projects Officer at the Islamic Development Bank, highlighted their continuous efforts over many years in supporting entrepreneurs. Through various channels and networks present in Islamic countries, they strive to disseminate inspiring success stories that encourage youth to initiate new projects and leverage the available potentials in these nations.

Furthermore, Ms. Lina Khalid Al Muayina, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Sports Competencies Company, owner of Jeddah United Club, discussed the club’s experience in entrepreneurial ventures within the sports sector. The club began its journey in 2006 under the umbrella of the Ministry of Commerce, contributing to the training of tens of thousands of girls, boys, and children. Additionally, it established branches in several different cities in the KSA, contributing to the advancement of entrepreneurship and development in this sector.

Ms. Nouf Numan Al Busheri, owner and founder of the Energy Sciences Trading Company, shared details of her professional journey and success story. She highlighted her specific expertise and the challenges she encountered, facing difficulty in finding a suitable job. However, through diligence and divine providence, she succeeded in establishing a partnership with a training center.

She highlighted the evolution of her company, which is now categorized as a nuclear and engineering consultancy, managing an accredited training center by the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training. She aspires to reach a level considered a gold mine for her project.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Saudi platform honored the speakers, the Islamic Development Bank group, Mr. Mohammad Bahwerth, and the organizing team, capturing group photos to commemorate the celebratory occasion.
