{"id":71231,"date":"2026-07-20T13:18:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T10:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/entarabi.com\/?p=71231"},"modified":"2026-07-20T13:45:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T10:45:09","slug":"egypts-reme-d-raises-1-45-million-pre-series-a-to-expand-access-to-molecular-diagnostics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entarabi.com\/en\/2026\/07\/egypts-reme-d-raises-1-45-million-pre-series-a-to-expand-access-to-molecular-diagnostics\/","title":{"rendered":"Egypt\u2019s Reme-D Raises $1.45 million Pre-series A to Expand Access to Molecular Diagnostics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Egypt\u2019s Reme-D Raises $1.45 Million in Pre-Series A Funding to Expand Molecular Diagnostics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Round led by Anara Impact Capital, with participation from Global Innovation Fund, Africa Health Ventures, and other investors to support advanced diagnostic technologies for infectious diseases and hepatitis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Egyptian healthtech company Reme-D, which develops and manufactures molecular diagnostic solutions, has closed a $1.45 million Pre-Series A funding round led by Anara Impact Capital, with participation from Global Innovation Fund, Africa Health Ventures, and other investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">About Reme-D<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Founded to improve access to advanced diagnostics across Africa and underserved markets, Reme-D develops accurate, rapid, affordable, and temperature-resilient molecular diagnostic tests for diseases including tuberculosis (TB), HIV, hepatitis, and human papillomavirus (HPV), a leading cause of cervical cancer in women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">Funding Details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">The new funding will support the company\u2019s plans to expand its manufacturing capacity, strengthen its regional footprint, and broaden its product portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Reme-D also plans to introduce new diagnostic tests covering genetic disorders and cancer, while increasing the number of temperature-resilient tests that can be easily transported and stored in remote areas and healthcare facilities with limited infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Since 2023, the company has developed and commercialized 30 diagnostic products from its manufacturing facility in Cairo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">It has supplied more than 550,000 diagnostic tests across Egypt, Kenya, and Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\"> Reme-D serves public and private laboratories, hospitals, and research institutions, while its products have been featured in international scientific publications. The company has also filed a U.S. patent application for its proprietary technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Reme-D recently equipped a solar-powered mobile laboratory, specially commissioned by the World Health Organization (WHO) Egypt Office, to support the Egyptian Ministry of Health\u2019s efforts in monitoring vector-borne diseases in remote areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">After growing its team from five to 50 employees, the company is preparing to relocate to a 1,500-square-meter facility and upgrade its manufacturing equipment, increasing production capacity tenfold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">It also plans to continue expanding across African markets while strengthening its quality assurance and regulatory capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">Salma Tammam, Founder and CEO of Reme-D, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Success, for us, means that patients across Africa and the Global South are no longer prevented from accessing life-saving disease diagnosis because of cost or the lack of advanced molecular testing.
