The month marked the return of mega-deals while maintaining strong momentum across the region’s technology ecosystem.

The impressive funding total was driven by several landmark transactions, led by ICEYE’s $1.2 billion funding round, backed by the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), alongside major rounds raised by CargoX, CNTXT AI, and 1001. The deals underscore continued investor appetite for startups developing scalable technology solutions with regional and global growth potential.

Although total funding exceeded $1.57 billion, nearly 76% of the month’s investment value came from ICEYE’s round alone, with the remaining capital distributed across 20 other transactions. This reflects sustained investment activity across different stages of startup growth, while also highlighting the significant impact of mega-rounds on monthly funding totals.

AI Tops Deal Activity

Artificial intelligence remained the most active sector by number of funding rounds during June. AI-focused startups securing investments included CNTXT AI, 1001, Algebra AI, Zuvees, Wellbees, BrainsMingle, and SPARQ, which is developing an AI-powered game engine.

Meanwhile, the space intelligence sector attracted the largest share of investment value during the month, driven by ICEYE’s $1.2 billion round, reflecting growing investor interest in advanced technology infrastructure.

Strong Finish to the Month

June concluded with six investment deals worth a combined $39 million, led by 1001’s $30 million Series A round. The remaining investments were spread across startups operating in artificial intelligence, fintech, proptech, employee wellbeing solutions, and professional networking platforms, highlighting the continued diversity of the region’s startup ecosystem.

UAE Leads Regional Investment Activity

Geographically, the United Arab Emirates ranked first by number of disclosed funding rounds, recording nine deals, representing approximately 43% of the month’s total transactions. Saudi Arabia followed with four rounds, while Egypt and Iraq each recorded two deals. The remaining transactions were distributed across Qatar, Syria, and several cross-border regional investments.

Mega-Rounds Return While Early-Stage Funding Remains Active

Despite a handful of mega-rounds accounting for the majority of invested capital, June also witnessed continued funding activity across early-stage startups through Pre-Seed and Seed rounds, alongside Series A, Series C, and Series F financings, reflecting investors’ continued willingness to back startups throughout their growth journey.

The month also featured several strategic investments and transactions with undisclosed values, highlighting a growing preference among investors for building long-term partnerships with promising startups alongside conventional equity financing.

Market Outlook

June’s performance reflects the continued maturity of the MENA startup ecosystem, with investors increasingly backing companies capable of delivering scalable technology solutions across strategic sectors, particularly artificial intelligence, logistics, and financial technology.

The diversity of sectors, markets, and funding stages also points to a broadening investment landscape that extends well beyond headline-grabbing mega-deals. This trend reinforces MENA’s attractiveness to both regional and international capital and suggests that investment momentum is likely to continue throughout the second half of the year, particularly in high-growth technology sectors

June saw the return of mega investment deals across the region, alongside continued funding activity across startups at different growth stages, with artificial intelligence leading the investment landscape.

[8850
2597,13102
post-70458","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-venture","tag-startup","tag-unding
["GET
