Total startup funding across the Middle East, Africa, and the Gulf region surged to $508.64 million by the end of April, up from $69.6 million in March, marking a significant growth of 723.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the monthly startup investment report published by entArabi <\/strong>for April 2026, a total of 24 deals were recorded during the month, including 21 disclosed transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fintech sector dominated investment activity, attracting $481.5 million\u2014accounting for 94.7% of total funding\u2014across four deals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was followed by the artificial intelligence sector, which secured $45.85 million through five deals, representing 9.01% of total transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
E-commerce ranked third, with investments totaling $22.2 million across five startups, representing 4.36% of total funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plata<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) participated in a $405 million Series C funding round for digital banking platform Plata, led by Bicycle Capital alongside a group of international and regional investors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The round raised the company\u2019s valuation to $5 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Comfi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Comfi raised $65 million in a pre-Series A round combining equity and credit facilities. The round was led by Iliad Partners, with participation from Yango Ventures and Raw Ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chazm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
UAE-based Shorooq Partners participated in a $10.3 million Series A round for South Korea-based fintech platform Chazm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The round was led by Stonebridge Ventures, with participation from KB Investment, Futureplay, Zero1NE Ventures (Hyundai Motor Group\u2019s investment arm), and LX Ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Signit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Saudi-based Signit raised $15 million in a Series A round to expand its AI-powered contract management and digital signature services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The round was led by Raed Ventures, with participation from STV, Seedra Ventures, Takamol Ventures, and Suhail Ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
