Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, a consortium of leading global technology companies unveiled <strong data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"767\">Stargate Emirates <\/strong>a massive sovereign AI infrastructure project aimed at accelerating AI innovation and cross-border collaboration.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"1101\">The initiative will see the construction of a <strong data-start=\"929\" data-end=\"962\">1-gigawatt AI compute cluster<\/strong> at the <strong data-start=\"970\" data-end=\"1007\">new UAE-US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi<\/strong>, scaling up to 5 GW making it the <strong data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1100\">largest facility of its kind outside the United States<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-start=\"1103\" data-end=\"1359\">The project is being <strong data-start=\"1124\" data-end=\"1144\">developed by G42<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"1151\" data-end=\"1192\">OpenAI and Oracle managing operations<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1240\">Cisco providing AI-ready secure networking<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1246\" data-end=\"1269\">SoftBank and Nvidia<\/strong> contributing hardware infrastructure, including Nvidia\u2019s <strong data-start=\"1327\" data-end=\"1352\">Grace Blackwell GB300<\/strong> chips.<\/p>\n<blockquote dir=\"ltr\" data-start=\"1361\" data-end=\"1593\">\n<p data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1593\">\u201cStargate Emirates represents a critical step in our UAE-US AI partnership. We\u2019re turning a bold vision into a global infrastructure for responsible AI,\u201d<br data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1730\" \/>added <strong data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1750\">Sam Altman<\/strong>, CEO of OpenAI.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-start=\"1768\" data-end=\"2114\">The new facility, powered by <strong data-start=\"1797\" data-end=\"1832\">nuclear, solar, and natural gas<\/strong>, is expected to commence operations in <strong data-start=\"1872\" data-end=\"1880\">2026<\/strong> with the activation of the initial 200 MW cluster.
