This marks the <strong data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"755\">first major Middle Eastern investment<\/strong> in China&#8217;s asset management sector during a time of growing geopolitical and financial tension with the West.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" data-start=\"867\" data-end=\"1251\">According to a document issued by the <strong data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"954\">China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC)<\/strong> on Thursday, QIA is now formally recognized as a shareholder in <strong data-start=\"1019\" data-end=\"1060\">China Asset Management Co. (ChinaAMC)<\/strong>. While the transaction value has not been officially disclosed, earlier filings from ChinaAMC\u2019s largest shareholder indicated that the 10% stake would be worth <strong data-start=\"1221\" data-end=\"1250\">no less than $490 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" data-start=\"1253\" data-end=\"1499\">With this acquisition, QIA becomes the <strong data-start=\"1292\" data-end=\"1333\">third-largest shareholder in ChinaAMC<\/strong>, a company that manages over <strong data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1399\">\u00a51.8 trillion ($250 billion USD)<\/strong> in assets and provides a wide range of mutual funds and ETFs to retail and institutional investors.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" data-start=\"1501\" data-end=\"1807\">The transaction comes amid <strong data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"1580\">deepening ties between China and the Gulf region<\/strong>, as both sides ramp up economic and political collaboration.
