A large number of internet users worldwide experienced difficulties accessing websites — particularly social media platforms and news portals — due to a Cloudflare service outage on Tuesday afternoon.

DownDetector, a platform that monitors website outages, reported that users in several regions around the world — especially in Egypt and Saudi Arabia — were unable to access the social media platform X.

A report by Bloomberg indicated that because many users globally rely on Cloudflare’s infrastructure, numerous service and entertainment websites were affected.

Among the platforms impacted were blogging site Medium, gaming service Discord, e-commerce platform Shopify, music streaming service SoundCloud, cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, and cloud storage service Dropbox.

In response, Cloudflare stated on its official website that it is investigating the issue affecting its users and will provide further updates as soon as new information becomes available.
