Bahrain-based crypto brokerage and custody platform Rain Financial has announced its acquisition of Digital Ma’arefa, a financial and investment media company known for building one of the region’s most followed financial content networks.

Digital Ma’arefa operates several specialized financial newsletters, including The Finance Memo, The Saudi Memo, Crypto Memo, and AI Memo, in addition to a broader financial news network. Together, these platforms have built a combined audience of more than 1 million followers over the past five years.

As part of the transaction, Digital Ma’arefa’s three co-founders — Abdullah Mashat, Wael Almutlaq, and Abdullah Faqeeh — will join Rain, strengthening the company’s regional push in financial education and regulated crypto adoption across the Middle East and North Africa.

Rain also announced the appointment of Abdullah Mashat as Managing Director, where he will help lead the company’s regional growth strategy.

Commenting on the deal, Abdullah Mashat said:

“The Digital Ma’arefa and Rain teams share the same ambition: building trust at scale by combining financial media with regulated infrastructure.”

EJ Nelson, Co-founder of Rain, added:

“Trust is invaluable. Abdullah Mashat and the Digital Ma’arefa team have established themselves as one of the most trusted voices in crypto, and we are excited to welcome them to Rain.”

The deal was officially completed on March 30, 2026, and Digital Ma’arefa’s team will be integrated into Rain’s existing operations over the coming months, with no changes expected to its newsletters or news networks.
