- Uber agreed to acquire delivery operations of Turkish company Getir from Mubadala
- The deal includes 335 million dollars in cash for the full acquisition of Getir food delivery business
- Uber plans an additional 100 million dollar investment for a 15 percent stake in related delivery services
Uber announced it has reached an agreement to acquire delivery operations belonging to Turkish company Getir from Mubadala Investment Company which holds a controlling stake. The move strengthens Uber footprint in Turkey and supports its broader delivery expansion strategy.
Uber said in a disclosure that it will pay 335 million dollars in cash to fully acquire Getir food delivery business. The transaction does not include the assumption of cash liabilities or debt obligations which indicates a direct asset purchase structure.
Beyond the acquisition Uber also intends to invest 100 million dollars to obtain a 15 percent stake in Getir services covering food delivery grocery retail and water distribution. This step reflects Uber focus on expanding last mile delivery beyond restaurant meals into broader on demand commerce.
The deal allows Uber to strengthen its position in Turkey growing delivery market while benefiting from Getir local infrastructure and operational expertise. It also supports Uber ambition to build an integrated delivery ecosystem that combines food grocery and retail services under one platform.
